Swifts at Worth

A walk out over the marsh at Worth, from Jubilee Road to the Pinnock Wall and back was quite eventful with a lot to see on the various new scrapes that are starting to mature nicely now. There were several Swift's hawking insects over the various bodies of water and kept me entertained for an hour or so.

There were several nesting pairs of Avocets dotted around the area, I saw one pair with 3 newly hatched chicks and I was able to get images of adult birds flying across the Pinnock wall to feed on the newly dug scrapes.

A Grey Heron also flew over within range of the camera.

Also a Wall Brown butterfly was seen settled on the track in front of me.

A butterfly species I do not often come across so nice to get an image.
